Naropa now offers Academic Coaching Groups!
What is an Academic Coaching Group?
An Academic Coaching Group is a collaborative, instructive conversation and learning group, focused on goal setting, deepening awareness of students’ strengths and challenges, taking action to reach academic goals, and maintaining accountability. Students in the group will benefit from the peer learning through discussion and problem-solving with others, and can gain insight into their own experiences by way of the collective knowledge and strategies of the group.
Each week, the group meeting is centered around an anchoring theme that will guide the focus of the session (based on the general needs of the group), such as procrastination, over-scheduling, stress, or self-care. Group members are given the opportunity to hear other students’ experiences of similar difficulties, as well as a variety of perspectives on how to work with these difficulties. The group members can also work to integrate the weekly themes and discussions into their overall goals for the semester.
