Event Blast: Naropa Counseling Center’s Men’s Retreat

The Counseling Center-sponsored Men’s Retreat has been rescheduled and is gathering together a dynamic community of men to participate. Step into a circle of men to share support in facing the issues most men grapple with in solitude. During this weekend of facilitated group work and exercises, the group will dive deeply into themes including:

*   cultural roles

*   emotional expression

*   sex

*   family

*   relationship

*   spirituality

…plus whatever emerges from the group’s alchemy of experience. This non-residential retreat is open to all male-identified Naropa students, and is designed for participants to learn and grow together in trust and community. The activities will include embodiment practices, creative expression, dyadic exercises, and group process.

When: Saturday, April 25th, 9:00 AM — 5:00 PM & Sunday, April 26th, 9:00 AM — 3:00 PM

Facilitators for the Retreat:

Andrew Griffes – Counseling Intern at Naropa Counseling Center and 3rd year Master’s student in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology. Andrew has participated in several men’s groups through the past two years, and weaves together training in couples work and somatic trauma therapy to support men in healing their relationships with themselves and others.

Alex Antonucci – Counseling Intern at Mental Health Partners and 3rd year Master’s student in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology.  He has been actively engaged in men’s dance and movement work in Boulder through the last two years, and brings Gestalt Therapy, mindfulness practice, non-violent communication and contemplative voice work into his therapeutic work. His mission is to support others to courageously face the opportunity of a broken heart and create a solid foundation of healing awareness.

There is no cost for the retreat and spaces are limited.
