Event Blast: From Body to Earth

From Body to Earth:

Reconnecting to Self, Community and Mother Earth through body and voice

Philosophy: You in the Circle of Us

Through the body we can sense our interconnection with all things and viscerally perceive that we are not separate or isolated but a part of a much greater whole. But in order to sense this greater connection we must first encounter our own bodies. By opening up to the sensations of our own body and voice we open the door to experiencing the world around us in a deeply rooted way.

What are we going to do?

Throughout the workshop our focus will be on the experience and sensations of the body. Utilizing somatic movement and voice techniques we will explore our relationships with oneself, our community and ultimately Mother Earth.

  • We will engage in individual practices that seek to synchronize mind and body.
  • We will express ourselves through movement and sound.
  • We will play through community building games and exercises.

Who is it for?

Anyone curious or interested in:

  • Learning about themselves through body and voice
  • Experiencing community and the group mind
  • Deepening a relationship with Mother Earth through the experiential body

The Facilitator:

Allison Caw is currently an MFA Candidate in the Contemporary Performance program at Naropa University. She is a certified teacher in Williamson Technique Level One. As a somatic educator and environmental activist she is developing a technique that seeks to restore our connection with the Earth through the experiential body.
